On marking the centennial of the Department of Electrical Machines, Drives and Automation at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, we created a visual identity and a video showcasing its history. The video presents generations of professors and students who built the Department, as well as its work on major projects in industrial and power engineering facilities.
The experts from the Department, with their scientific perspective, technical knowledge, and innovative approach, solved the most complex technical problems and changed the world around them. This is also communicated through the message “Change yourself, change the world.”. Today, engineers from ZESA work in the fields of electrical machines, power electronics, control, mechatronics, industrial automation, and defense technologies. They continue the vision of their predecessors, ready to create a new century of knowledge, innovation, and engineering excellence, and to educate engineers who move the world.
Alongside the video, for this important anniversary, we created a visual identity that celebrates the Department’s inspiring past. The copper color of the visual identity represents tradition, durability, and material that withstands the passage of time. The choice of color was also inspired by copper as a material used for its electrical and thermal properties. The selected typography is clean and contemporary, its form reminiscent of rotors and coils, and it aligns with the letter “S” in the logo, which represents a machine in motion.
